We are almost at the end of another Optimist year. President Optimist Cheryl and her executive have done  great job and we have been able to enjoy a good year with lots of fun activities.

Thank you also to our directors, both past and present, for helping to keep us afloat.  And of course we could not do it without the help of our faithfull members.

We are a great team that together works for the good of Optimism.

Brian Van Moorsel

"It is with deep sadness that our club heard of the passing of a great spirited friend and dedicated Optimist Life Member, Brian Van Moorsel.  Brian's service to our youth began first with the Optimist Club of Downie, then when he moved to our club, it was a very positive gain for our youth to have him on board. He had a kind and genuine heart of GOLD. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ellen and their 4 sons,

Brad, Jamie, Nick & Chris and Van Moorsel families.

Brian served as our President and also received the Optimist of the Year award.

We hope to have our family get together at Camp Galbraith this coming Sunday, September 12.  Please let Optimist President Cheryl know if you are coming, makes it easier to order meat.
